How to Deal With Feeling Unloved, Unseen & Unwanted!

Hey sis!

Has there ever been a time where you questioned if people loved or wanted you around?

Have you ever felt unseen, or like nobody loved you?

Do you often wonder if your partner loves you? Or even after spending time with family and friends, you still feel left alone? In the end, you ask yourself, why do I feel unlovable? Feeling unloved does not always have to do with how you look, talk, walk, or behave. Sometimes, feeling unloved is all about the tricks the enemy uses to deceive you. Your low self esteem and negative self-image adds to your misconception. They make you believe that you are flawed, unloved, unworthy, and in a way – inadequate. And let me tell you, sis you are not alone if you feel unloved.

I’ve dealt with feelings of being undesired and unloved at various times in my life. Like me, many of you often try to overcome feeling unloved the same way I did—by trying to earn it from other people. This didn’t work for me, and most likely it won’t work for you either. Be mindful, that not one person on earth can ever love you more than God.  Whenever I feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, the word of God reminds me who I Am, and who's I Am.  This is why it's so important for you to read your Bible, speak God's promises over your life, and spend time with God daily.

Not feeling loved is a painful daunting experience. It forces individuals to seek validation. The end result? It makes you believe that maybe others like you for what you do but not for who you are. The overpowering drive to feel accepted, appreciated, and loved makes it hard to nurture yourself and receive love from others.

Why Do I Feel So Unlovable?

Feeling unlovable does not equate to being unlovable. Not feeling loved in no way means that you are not lovable. Our core beliefs define our actions, feelings, and perception. They regulate our thinking and emotions. Often, they push us to feel that we’re not enough or are too much. Sometimes traumatic events can resurface and contribute to the lies we feed our minds.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewellery or fine clothes.  Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4
